Meizin Voice Privacy Policy

Basic Policy

This software is designed with your privacy as the top priority. All speech recognition processing is performed locally on your computer, and no data, including voice data, is ever sent to external servers.

Data We Do NOT Collect

This software does not collect any of the following data:

  • Voice data: Recorded audio is immediately discarded from memory after recognition processing.
  • Recognition result text: Text generated by speech recognition is discarded from memory after input.
  • Usage data: We do not collect usage statistics such as frequency, duration, or recognition count.
  • Location data: We do not obtain GPS or network-based location information.
  • Personal identification information: We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or other personal information (except information provided to sales channels when purchasing a license key).

Data Stored on Your Computer

This software stores only the following data necessary for operation on your computer:

  • Configuration file (config.json): Language settings, hotkey settings, GPU/CPU selection, etc.
  • Custom dictionary: Text replacement rules you have registered
  • License key: The license key you entered
  • Trial start date and trial offer information: First launch date, offer expiration, purchase URL, and related information used to calculate the trial period and trial offer.
  • Speech recognition model: Whisper model files (downloaded on first launch)

Configuration files, custom dictionary data, and speech recognition model files are stored on your computer. Only the minimum information required for license activation, trial offer registration, and license transfer is sent to the authentication server.

Network Communication

This software communicates over the network only in the following cases:

  1. Speech recognition model download (first launch only): Downloads model files from HuggingFace servers. No personal information is transmitted.
  2. Trial offer registration: Sends the app identifier, machine identifier, and app version to the authentication server to manage the limited-time trial offer. Identifiers are stored on the server in hashed form.
  3. License key verification and transfer: Sends the license key, machine identifier, app version, and related information to the authentication server to verify license validity, manage activated devices, and confirm license transfers.
  4. Update check: Checks whether a new version has been released. Only the current version number is transmitted.

No other network communication is performed. Voice data, recognition result text, usage data, etc. are never transmitted externally.

Data Sharing with Third Parties

The developer does not sell, lease, or provide your data to third parties, except when required by law or with your explicit consent.

Information at License Key Purchase

License key purchases are made through sales channels such as Stripe for domestic sales and Lemon Squeezy for overseas sales. Credit card information and other payment details provided at purchase are handled in accordance with each sales channel's privacy policy. The developer does not directly retain credit card information. The developer may retain purchaser email address, order ID, license key, and activated device information for license issuance, purchase confirmation, support, and license transfer confirmation.

Data Deletion

  • Deleting configuration files: Deleting config.json will erase all settings, dictionary, and license key information.
  • Uninstallation: Uninstalling this software will delete all data.

Children's Privacy

This software is not intended for children under 13 years of age. The developer does not intentionally collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

The developer may update this Privacy Policy as necessary. If significant changes are made, notification will be provided on this software's website or within the application.
